By default, SQL Server has ’Windows Authentication mode’ enabled. You need to change this to ’SQL Server and Windows Authentication mode’.
  1. Right click on Server (top of tree object) and choose Properties -> Security
  2. Enable ’SQL Server and Windows Authentication mode’.
